The Elk And The Hare

Wondrously, the sky was the color of the calm Pacific Ocean, thousands of miles from land as the Elk approached the vast lake and gazed at his reflection in the center of a dense forest.

Suddenly, the Hare heard Elk’s unpleasant moans and approached him.

“Why are you moaning?” asked the Hare, a curious cat.

“If only my legs are perfect, I would be the most elegant elk in the entire forest,” uttered the Elk, “I would be the idol of everybody. Oh! But look at me! Such an ugly Elk!”

“You look splendid!“ replied the Hare confidently trying to pacify Elk’s woe.

Out of nowhere, a malevolent wolf leaped out of the bushes and chased the poor Elk. What an amazing sight! Skillfully, his slender legs carried him over the calming meadows and the lofty grass in the forest, not being caught by the rapid wolf, greedy as a pig.

Beaming like the sun, the Hare replied to the Elk, “You see! If you didn’t heed my advice, you would have been gorged by the glutton, the Wolf!”

To this, the boastful Elk had learned a prominent lesson:

Be grateful for what you have!
