My Mum and I just moved from Canberra which is only a 3-hour drive to London. My Mum lost her job so she had to find a new one. I wasn’t very happy that I had to move schools because it was the middle of the term. I had so many memories at my old school. I didn’t have many friends but I had my first love there.. As soon as we got to the house, I unpacked and tried to sleep. When I woke up in the morning I tried to beg mum to stay home but she told me I had to.

I entered the gates of Bates High and my heart raced a 100miles per hour. I really didn’t want to be at school. I saw a man walk in the school gates with people walking in around him and it suddenly felt like time had stopped. For a minute I thought it was Jacob but he told me that he moved to America. The bell rang and I had gotten myself lost somewhere in the building.
Someone was walking around the corner and suddenly we clashed and I fell forward onto them. I turned around and it was the same guy I thought was Jacob and we both just said sorry to each other. As I kept walking someone stopped me and said: “God you definitely know how to make an impression of yourself, then said my name is Maggie nice to finally meet you, I’ve been looki…” I interrupted her and said, “Who's that?” she stopped and said that is the most popular guy in High School his name is…'' someone came into the building and yelled “Jacob.'' I turned around to only look at a short, skinny guy with crystal eyes and blond hair, looking directly at me. I noticed them talking while they were both staring back at me. I couldn’t believe that it was him. I started to walk towards the school gate when he yelled “get her''.
Two tall large men appeared behind me and soon I felt like I was running for my life. It was 4 against 1 but I ran outside the school gates and all the way to the park near my house, without them catching me. I climbed up a tree so they wouldn’t find me. I had heard people coming so I covered my mouth but Jacob told everyone to not worry about it, so everyone started to leave but him. I jump down from the tree where Jacob is standing right in front of me. I looked at him and said “what is your problem? you left me! You left and lied to me! I thought we were more than that, I thought I trusted you. Did you know I haven’t been with anyone since then? You broke me”
All he said was “I’m sorry…”
he paused for a minute and then said “really? four years”
I laughed a bit and said “yes”.
He came over to me and put his arms around me and whispered “I’m sorry”
when I say I’ve never felt more at home.. I meant it. He had offered to walk me home but I just said I’d see him tomorrow.
It was late at night when I woke up to tapping on my window. I walk over and at my window it’s him. I opened my window as he was climbing him I said “what are you doing”
he just hugged me and just cried. All night we talked and we talked and eventually, I fell asleep in his arms.

We woke up to the alarm and headed downstairs for breakfast. Mum went to go say something and once she realized it was him. She said, “omg it’s so nice to see you again, do you want some breakfast”. Jacob and my Mum sat down and I went upstairs to get ready because I couldn’t stand to look at food. When I walked down the stairs my mum leaned over and gave him a hug. Mum looked at me and said “aren’t you going to eat”
I said to her “I wasn’t hungry”. Once they were finished eating we left for school. On the way Jacob asked me “if I was eating”, I said “yeah I just wasn’t hungry”
He went to roll my sleeves up but I pulled my arms back. Jacob held my hand and as we were walking in right in front of everyone he leaned over and kissed me. My stomach filled with butterflies and my face blushed as we were walking towards everyone. Everyone was shocked but some were cheering which was weird but I guess if you date the most popular kid, you have to accept that. At lunch, I walked into the bathrooms and as I walked through the door girls were talking about him. They were talking about his girlfriend and for a second I thought it was about me but then one of them said she was on a trip to the Bahamas… I knew straight away it wasn’t me so I ran out with tears in my eyes. He asked what was wrong and I screamed “We’re done”,
He tried to chase me out but I told him to “just leave me alone”.
I ran home and told Mum ‘I felt sick”.
I went up to my room and locked my window.

Later in the night it was him outside again, I froze and suddenly I felt an uncomfortable warmth in his presence. I didn’t know whether to let him in or not. I went to the window with tears rolling down my eyes and closed the blinds. I turned up my music and sat in the middle of my bed and I was in so much pain. It was like someone had taken my whole heart out. I went over to my drawer and picked up my backup plan. I walked into the bathroom and soon a massive circle was filled with blood. I jumped into the shower before it got everywhere. My whole body stung and it was killing me that he did that to me. When I got out Mum came up to me and asked if I wanted dinner. I told her no because I had food at school even though I’ve been craving to eat for the past week. I crept downstairs while Mum was in the shower and stole some of her smokes. I went to her wallet and grabbed $50 out and then I headed upstairs. I peeked outside my blind to see if Jacob was still sitting there… he had waited but fallen asleep. I unlock my window and decide to go sit with him. As I was lighting up the first smoke… he woke up.
