Faith

Today I received a phone call, a dreaded phone call.
I knew that I would come I just didn’t want it to come right now.

My best friend was in an accident, a terrible accident.
She only had a few hours to live after this event.

I was notified shortly after, minutes after.
I rushed to the hospital but couldn’t see her.

I went home not knowing what to do, all I could do was cry.

When I received the phone call, the dreaded phone call
I feared the worst, the very worst.

I held my breath as my best friends mum spoke.
She was sobbing, so was I.

She told me the news, the very worst news.
She had died.

I froze, froze like ice.

I cried until there were no more tears to come.
But I thought of what my best friends name actually was.

Faith.
