Danger On Ice

Danger on the Ice

Once upon a time there were two brothers named Max and Blake. Max was the older one and most mature. Blake was the younger one and he was a bit stupid because he would play in the hay and get heaps of insect’s biting him. Max and Blake lived in a farm house on the edge of town on 50 acres.

Their mum said to them if they did all of their chores for one whole month they would get a special prize. When they got home from school they were tired but because their mum said they would get a prize they did their chores. Max did all the dirty jobs that he thought were disgusting, like picking up the horse poo and cleaning out the chook pen. Blake was rounding up all the animals and putting them where they were supposed to go for the night. Then they both helped feed the animals. Every day they would switch jobs.

Finally the day came for the special prize. Max got a pair of black ice skates and Blake got a red pair. After school Max and Blake rushed home so they could try out their new ice skates. They were so excited.

Blake knew how to ice skate because he had been to many ice skating parties and he was good.
Max was unfortunate that he did not go to any ice skating parties so this was his first time.

It was winter so Max and Blake went down to their frozen lake. Max went to the side of the lake to hold on to the rail but Blake went straight into the middle of the lake and spun around in a 360. Suddenly the ice cracked and Blake fell in. He screamed as he fell into the freezing cold icy water. Max rushed to the land, took off his skates and sprinted up to the farm house yelling for help. Blake was scared of drowning and freezing from the icy cold water. He tried was trying to climb out but the ice kept breaking. Max was worried for his brother’s safety.

Max’s dad grabbed the ladder and ran down as fast as he could to the frozen lake. He put the ladder across the lake so Blake could climb up onto the ladder and his dad pulled him in. They all walked up to the farm house. Blake took off his icy clothes and hung them up in front of the fire. His mum wrapped him up in a blanket and made him a hot chocolate while he sat in front of the fire. Blake felt relieved, warm and cosy. All of his family felt happy that Blake was safe and he learnt not to show off any more.
