Sam And The Silver Pellets

Mr and Mrs. Tranic were very unusual people. They had a son named Sam. Sam was a quiet boy. He was a very special boy; he was not like the other boys at school. Sam’s father was a scientist, maybe even the smartest guy on earth. His father passed his genes down to Sam and he was a complete genius too.

It was the end of summer break and Sam was on his way to school. About half the way through day his teacher gave the class an assignment on inventing. Sam thought this would be easy, but it wasn’t.

Sam got started as soon as he got home. By the end of the night Sam had come up with something. It was a small round piece of metal. He called it The Silver Pellet.

He finished it before he left for school the next morning. Everyone was dying to see Sam’s invention; you could tell because all Sam heard that morning was “Can I see your invention.” Sam made up a game and all. He explained to everyone that there would be thirty-six high tech pellets in play, two teams, and nine people on each team. Each person would have two pellets and they would have to hit the other team. One hit and you would be disqualified from the game. If you run out of pellets you are able to get other peoples pellets off the ground. The last man standings team were the winners.

He called his game Pellets. All his friends wanted to play at lunchtime, so they did. They were the only ones playing, and then a small group came over to Sam. They asked him if they could play pellets with him. “Well, I guess” said Sam, “and that will make 18” suggested the boy. Soon the whole school was playing pellets. Pellets pretty much became the schools best sport. One day, one of Sam’s friends suggested to the principal that they have tournament at the end of the year. The principal thought it was a great idea.

Well, as the end of the year approached everyone started to get ready. There would be two teams, Sam’s team and Wilson’s team. (Wilson was the school bully). I was going to be a good battle.

The tournament day had finally come, and we were all very excited. They shined up their Pellets, put on protective clothing and got ready for the fight.

They got out there and the lights were shining brightly. The principle came out and said aloud “may the games begin.” And we were off. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Two people were already out. James was on my team, he was aiming for Wilson when from behind him BOOM!
Crack! Smash! Sam hit another two people. I quickly ran behind Wilson while Lachlan distracted him and SMACK! Hit. The tournament was over, Sam’s team won.

Sam’s invention was the best the school had ever seen.
