Vanishing Road

One day too many
One way to go
left with scares and scratches
and nothing to show.

Went to far
along to road
found a place to hide
to set aside the load.

Walked it alone
Didn't look ahead
watched it end
with all the words unsaid.

Before it started
I never noticed
to play Threads of life
I should have left it.

Should of turned
could have run
would have changed it
but what's done is done.

Now that is has past
should I forget, forgive
should I recover
or just simply live?

One day to many
one way to go
left with scares and scratches
and nothing to show.

Could shattered clay
ever be fixed
can a disappointment
a failure ever be missed?

Remembering the last
Visions come at night
things I didn't want
started to fight

Can't see the the way
Can't see the road
Can't look ahead
no where to put the load

last chance to find it
otherwise I might miss
the one thing I want
my only one wish.

One day too many
One way to go
left with scares and scratches
and nothing to show.

Some thing passes
a thing unseen
noticed a little too late
something very mean.

When this road ends
a new one can start
one not so hard
that doesn't play with my heart.
