A Beautiful Moon

I look at the sky
What do I see?
A beautiful moon, smiling at me
It stands out in the darkest of nights
And when it's not there, it gives me a fright
It moves across the night sky like a clock
I've seen pictures of it and it looks like a circular rock
With it's craters it looks like cheese
It's glow reflects very brightly on the seas
I want to fly up to it in a rocket ZOOM – ZOOM
And put MY footprint on the moon
I've always known that it's near the sky
In the sky or above the sky, I still wonder how it got so high
Above my head; Above the seas; Above the mountains
But I can still see it shining with my own little eye
It's so big; but it looks so small
I wonder if it will ever fall
