Finalist in the 'Xtreme Read 2009' competition
The wind whispering and moaning,
Calling forth the frost;
Clear blood ceaselessly drips,
Freezing afore it hits the earth.
The world illuminated for a moment,
As the sky is split in two;
The world deafened for an instant,
The sky spirits releasing their wrath.
A crimson rose spiralling in the gale,
Ice coating the blood red tips;
Petals torn away from the body,
Giving into the torture, dying.
The entire world alive for a moment,
Mother Nature coming to play;
The world stares through frosted panes,
Witnesses to the aftermath of the storm.
