Take Not

Darkness comes creeping
Crossing the lawn
Giving powers to corners
And shadows
And walls
Take not from the darkness
From the shadows it sows
For darkness takes back everything that it’s owed
You cannot hide from the darkness
Cannot hide from it’s sight
For hiding and darkness come both from the night,
Darkness will teach you to lie and deceive
But night’s greatest weapon is the shadow of eve,
‘Cause shadows make faces,
In places, they aren’t,
So take not from the darkness
From the shadows it sows
For darkness takes back everything that it’s owed
