Finalist in the 'Xtreme Read 2009' competition
Accross the desert, sprayed with sun
The barren lands of Death,
An angel cries in hopelessness
Under an ogre's breath.
Her tears fall to her wounded knees
And purifies the blood
Which trickle down her milky skin
And splatter in the mud.
The sun is setting in the west,
Midnight is almost here,
She knows she can't escape her doom,
Her final hour is near.
Misery grasps her frail body
As icy hands enclose,
The ogre fuses with her soul
The Thorn completes the Rose.
