Wild at heart and spirit free
They prance and dance, majestically
But when I call them, longingly
They never come to me
Galloping, they cross the beach
Tracing out the horizon, beyond my reach
They know I follow, eagerly
But they never wait for me
Ears pricked up, cautiously
Their gentle eyes reflect the seas
Innocence fills the land, the breeze
As they gaze back at me
Vividly I see them, in my dreams
For what I see, or think I see
Is what I have always longed to be
A horse at heart; me
