Jacko

Jacko
He always smiled when he looked at me
Well that was the way it used to be
He always caught us if we fell
If we were in trouble he could always tell
On family walks he’d get a treat
If he sat before he crossed the street
He thought the hose was a snake
He always made that mistake
To the beach he loved to go
On golden sand he ran to and fro
At the end of each day away
He’d lick us and want to play
He got too old to walk about
It was time to say good-bye no doubt
I loved him dearly, my best friend
My dog Jacko to the end
