The mind can be laced with dusty cobwebs,
Grim thoughts can creep like spiders among them.
Memories that wish to be forgotten hunched over in dark corners,
Threatening to fly out at any moment.
The mind can be bursting with imagination, full of life and colour,
Concocting strange ideas that swim then float before sinking.
Thoughts that can occupy you for hours,
Cut away your strings.
The mind can be zapping snatches of confusion back and forth.
It can be filled with emotion,
Happiness, sadness, selfishness and lust,
And reflect them via the body.
The mind can hold so much ecstasy and peace,
Recollections that force a smile,
To be kept under lock and key.
Treasured forever.
