Running, always running
From a life tainted with memories
Smiling photographs,
A reminder of what used to be
Her smell still lingers through the loveless house
Drinking, always drinking
To drown his loss with cheap wine
The ring,
A reminder of the promise he’d made.
Her smell still lingers through the loveless house
Hoping, always hoping
That one day she will return
Again united,
To piece together a broken family.
Her smell still lingers through the loveless house
