Can Never Run Again

I was in a beautiful meadow. The sun was shining and fluffy clouds dotted the skies. In the distance was an old oak towering over a table. The table was covered in food fit for a king from one end to the other. Two chairs was on either end of the table. On one chair there sat a little girl covered in white. She must of just went to church because those clothes look like Sunday clothes. Her bronze hair flowed to her waist in plaits. In her hands was a cooked chicken leg, she was ravaging it like she had not eaten in days. I started walking toward this little girl. Half way there, she looked up at me with the biggest smile on her face. She had lost her two front teeth, and blood was dribbling down her chin. I stared at her and felt my mouth drop. That was when I saw her eyes, big, red eyes. I stared into those eyes for an eternity, then she said something that I know I will never forget,
“You have kept me waiting for too long.”
I woke with a start, I must have sweated during the night because my bed was soaked. I rubbed my eyes getting the sleep out of them. It was still dark outside and a cool breeze floated into my room from the window. When my eyes adjusted I saw a large lump on the end of my bed. I slipped out of the bed, it was a struggle aswell, I noted. When my feet touched the hardwood floor the lump fell off my bed. I tiptoed to the light switch and turned it on. I wanted to scream but I couldn't. There on my floor with red eyes wide open was the girl from my dream.
