Teardrops

I believe that teardrops
are the saddest creatures in the world
filled with suffering and pain,
each tear has a story to be unfurled.
What causes tears you may ask,
well no one really knows.
Though I have a fair idea
with equal cons and pros.
When you are filled
with too many emotions to contain
teardrops escape,
they help you ease the pain.
When those deadly teardrops fall,
it feels all hope is lost,
some believe there is no point living,
yes, even that thought is crossed.
But there is no doubt,
we must stand strong.
Fight the lethal tears,
prove them wrong.
But as I said, crying’s not all bad,
tears often represent delight,
when your heart erupts with happiness,
they become a fountain of light.
Tears of joy can unexpectedly
come at any time,
when your heart swells up
they leave your eyes with a dazzling shine.
How on earth can one drop of water
contain that much emotion?
However one tear has the feelings
to fill an entire ocean.
