He was 89 – with soft, aged hands,
A frail smile,
A heart of iron
And a mind so quick and clever.
He was a distant relative,
A man I once knew,
Who died alone,
Yet was unhappy with his vast endeavours.
He was wise and taught me to understand,
That a heart may break,
It takes time to heal,
But love will last forever.
