Communists ruling the land
Cambodia was in their demanding hands
Four years of tortured life
Made surviving a huge strive
Leaders with strong beliefs
Actions big and words were brief
When they spoke they showed who is boss
They didn't care about anyone's loss
From their families workers were taken
They believed everyone was mistaken
In 1975 these communists came
Khmer Rouge was their name
Cambodians were far from free
In the time of Democratic Kampuchea
