The fairies were dancing in the light
But all of a sudden they took off in flight.
They flew to a place far away
Even further than the birds can stray.
They sat high upon pillows of cloud
As the fairy trumpets were ever so loud.
The king and queen entered the room
Now they knew the ball would start soon.
As the moon shone down upon the dancing
The fairies were filled with joy and dancing.
When the festivities were all over
The fairies returned to fields of clover.
No fairies have since been seen
But I know they are still keen
To dance as if in a test
Always determined to do their best.
