I choose my own path.
Travelling down this winding trail,
An individual path carved by the tread of my own free will.
I expect. I anticipate. I believe.
Left or right.
I choose my own path.
I am not just one bolt of lightning in a raging thunder storm.
I am not just one grain of sand like the thousands beneath my feet.
Life. This life. My life.
My destiny is my own. I have influence.
I choose my own path.
Slight hesitation repaired by judgement and observation.
A fresh breeze brushes the length of my cheek,
Confirming. Reassuring. Guiding.
My destination will not be delayed. I am my own free will.
I choose my own path.
What of fate? That transparent higher power.
The god like authority credited with our mistakes, our lessons, our being.
Fate. God. Imagination.
Are these interchangeable, a subconscious release of our own free will?
I choose my own path.
This winding trail seems distant, separate.
The tread stretches before me, on ground my feet have never walked.
Hesitation. Realisation. Obligation.
Left or right?
I choose my own path?
