2015
There was lots of depression,
Because of the recession.
We left the Emerald Isle,
To travel many miles.
Trepidation in my heart,
feeling my heart rip apart.
I wondered of those we'd left behind,
Always thinking of them in my mind.
Will I sound strange,
In this new strange land,
Will they even understand?
I now know those thoughts were in vain,
There was no need for all that pain.
Friends welcomed me, I was not alone,
Now I'm glad to call Australia home.
