I watched my cold, wet tears drop onto the page, I was angry, frustrated and felt rage;
I felt as if the whole world around me didn’t exist anymore, I felt like I was nothing and couldn’t deal with this no more;
Thinking, was it my fault that he died? My parents say no way, but I think so anyway;
He wasn’t under my control, He ran away when I wasn’t watching and now his body has no soul;
My hand was shaking like crazy, I had to stop it until it felt just right, So I clenched it tight to my pen and started to write;
Dear Heavenly Father, please take this prayer, look after my precious cat for me and please say you’ll swear;
Although I just want thank you for creating my cat Mittens, or actually I should say he was only just a kitten;
I am very sad that he got hit by a car, but I know the person who hit him meant no harm;
I know that there is a time to live and a time to die, but he will always remain close to my heart and now I am starting to cry;
Mittens was a part of my family and he will always stay that way, I will be thinking of him every single day;
I remember the first time I saw him and I held his warm figure in my arms, He is very special to me, he is just like a charm;
I was the one who was protecting him but now I’m leaving it up to you and your angels, I trust you to look after him even though I know leaving him is very painful;
I ask for you to keep him safe until I come, then I will join him with you and we shall again be one;
Please tell Mittens that I love him loads, and one day we will be reunited and back on the same road;
Please take note of this prayer dear God, and keep him with you until I come. Amen!
