Where Have All The Children Gone?

Young adults roaming the dark, ruined streets
Bones of the children scattered far and wide
Children were dropping like flies; there were too many defeats
Hardly any people alive and the children had all died.
An ear-splitting cry of a boy aged five,
From the very distant mountainside
The very last child is no longer alive
No future to look forward to; the children had all died.
‘twas a fateful day; the last child had fallen at dawn
Oh, where have all the children gone?
