The sky overhead loomed with the promise of a storm
The grey of the clouds hiding the warmth of the sun
The thunder rolled away in the distance
Quiet flashes of silver lighting up the skies
Hesitant droplets fell from the heavens
Promises of a downpour contained within each bead of silver
The flames thrived under the start of a storm’s wrath
Flickers of orange and red colouring the grey surrounds
A heavy fog rested amidst the forest canopy
But still the flames persisted, a dance of fire and smoke
Black fumes filled the skies
The fire’s rage rendering battle scars among the clouds
The rain soothing the fire’s roar and the bite in her flames
The twilight in the sky was buried under the storm’s grey
The fire blanketed under the rain, deprived of oxygen
An illusion of normalcy when the reality was turbulent
