They didn't understand, it puzzled them
The hurtful silent woe
When they were taken away by strangers
From their families long ago
Their families didn't stop the robbers
They just stood and stared
Their own wind swept nation
Ashamed and declared
The silent cries of the unknown race
The memories they kept
In the musky Australian night
The stolen children slept
After many burdened years
Some found their lost belonging
But we still regret our ways
The children of hurt, silence and longing
