and it was in that moment
when time seemed infinite and
gravity ceased to exist. It was just them
amidst the fracturing cosmos-
she with her wreath of starlight
adorning inky black tresses of the midnight sky,
and he with his crown of stardust
upon silken strands of gold
woven from the blush of dawn.
she reached out a trembling hand,
constellations of dying stars reflected in her eyes
and he smiled, a bittersweet curve to his lips
as their fingers touched and everything shattered-
colossal storms of stardust exploding as mauve tears
ripped apart the universe and everything imploded
- along with their dreams that would never be.
