A Dog In The Pound

The small, but courageous little puppy,
With droopy ears and eyes,
Begging for a stranger to become his hero!
It can’t stand being kept in this horrendous enclosure anymore!
Why can’t these dreadful beings understand?
Save me! It tries to yelp,
But they can’t recognise it’s helpless cry,
Which the wind takes away,
As this stuck, lost puppy lies down,
And wails it's way to sleep,
Only thinking about that one, sad, stupid, useless thing,
And hoping that one day, it’s saviour will come,
Who happily takes it home,
After all those horrible years in the pound
