Arms, brown and laden with leaves,
Reaching out for the sky.
Not knowing but hoping
for small birds to rest,
upon its cozy nest.
O tree!
Hugging Mother Earth's heart,
A love that cannot exist,
between Earth and men's heart.
O tree!
Purifying the air,
making it clean and fresh,
for our lair.
But what do we ever do to repay you, glamorous tree?
Nothing, we cut you down till you plea.
And even when you beg we do not listen,
We prepare our chainsaws and say,
"She will be smitten!"
