The fearful cry of seagulls ring
And the wail of captains gives a zing.
The grey clouds of a winter day,
Were out of sight and far behind the sight of day.
The oceans sway, wave by wave,
And the sun is as bright as a cheerful day.
No matter how much I pray and pray
The ships will not dock day by day.
The wind is lingering in your ears,
As the smell of bread gives a tear.
The swaying leaves giving way
To a thirst of joy and cheerful play.
The oceans sway, wave by wave,
And the sun is as bright as a cheerful day.
No matter how much I pray and pray
The ships will not dock day by day.
