Must I paint myself colourless,
For thee to see,
That the tint of mine skin,
Is only a fraction of me?
Though I breaketh, I cry, I yell, I weep,
I dance, I liveth, I love, I breathe.
Mine hue is still the only thing though perceives.
Enlighten me,
With what one can do,
To make thy eyes see,
I am human,
Just like thee.
Must I - to make thine at length believe,
That the colour of my skin doest not expound me -
Give thee a brush,
To paint me clear?
