We've watched the Moon and Sun go round,
chasing both yet never found for centuries.
The Sun, she follows the starry trail left by her wife,
and Moon, searching for her light, the Sun, her life.
Are both behind or both in front?
Or is Sun running and (let's be blunt) Moon falling behind?
Sun has temples, Moon has cakes, we make stories, tales,
and take their plight to something like the stars.
Sometimes they meet, and for a fleeting glimpse we see,
the two embracing.
But Moon is pulled away again,
and Sun chases, following the raining stars,
and the two go back to their chase in vain.
Daughters of Beliedies,
travelling the deep dark seas,
thank you for your day and night.
