Finalist in the 'The Write Note 2021' competition
Symphonies of blue and green
And wave-washed foam.
Luring and beckoning to join Her embrace,
Disguising Her depths in liquid-gold reflections.
Crackling anger and soothed calm,
Her temperament reflects from above and below.
Ancient and knowing, unforgiving and serene,
She observes without intercession.
Cleansing Herself of human interaction,
Footprints are wiped from existence and
Great fortresses of wood and metal
Now slumber on Her tranquil floor.
Worship Her and awe in childish delight;
The power and lulling nature of Her existence.
Welcome the caressing and gentle hold,
But beware Her wicked demise.
