Daddy's girl

My Dad is my teacher and my guide;
He helps me understand,
All those things I just don’t get,
As he leads me by the hand.

I’ll spend my weekend watching cricket,
Glad to be by his side.
Mum says I should hate the sport,
But she lets the watching slide.

I support the rugby team,
Dad follows with his heart.
We brave cold winters just to see,
The season fall apart.

I’ll love my Dad for ever and ever,
And as we watch life’s leaves unfurl,
I can faithfully, sincerely, honestly say,
That I’ll always be a daddy’s girl.
