Yellow

Once I met a little fellow
His little jacket was bright yellow
He was but five years old you see
And at that age his heart was free
'I want to drive a plane!' he said,
'When I'm done I won't go to bed
'I'll stay up until half past ten
'And then I'll fly my plane again!'
Such funny things yellow children dream
While adults, rotting away, it seems
Are grey sun-up until sun-down
Almost as if making a frown
Upon the world that we so hallow
We should all try to be more yellow
Lest we forget our dues to pay
And yellow children fade to grey
