A Friend
A friend doesn’t have to be someone from outside,
It could be close, artificial, a person along the ride.
It could be someone you love,
Or a spirit, someone from above.
A friend can be new or old,
Remember that song about silver and gold.
A friend can be a pet or a toy,
It doesn’t matter if it is a girl or boy.
You could have a fight and lose a friend,
It could be hurtful, but all will mend,
I have a friend; he is Christ the Lord,
If he didn’t do what he did for me, my heart would be sore.
For me you were whipped, bashed, and sore,
I’d say that my true friend is the Messiah, the Lord
