Quiet Night

It was a chilly night, she heard a noise, a low growl. The sound stopped momentarily, then immediately got louder. It was coming from the door. She got up to investigate, coming face to face with a small deer.

Its eyes were an emerald green and partially drew her out of the house and onto the wet grass beyond. She knelt to pat it but instead it stood on its hind legs and took the figure of a tall shadow, before engulfing her with its sharp teeth, shredding her to bits.

Her screams slowly silenced, and the night went quiet again.
