Finalist in the 'Summertime Fun ONLINE' competition
Through ferocious flood, fire and famine,
Mother nature still spares her rage,
On a group of vulnerable, weeping seedlings,
But of the ashes protected in her snug, safe cage.
The viridescent canopy of the ancient oak trees,
Starts to gradually fade away from a famished, flickering flame,
All that is left is a few frightened sprouts,
Still growing in the calamitous day.
When the wind beckons the water,
To join him into an attack,
They connect into a deadly, dire hand,
That destroys all but the young blossoms between the crack.
Now humans have paid nature back,
The adult flowers tell their children below.
During their life of disasters,
They still learn and grow.
