A land of cold winters and blizzards so cruel
A ladybird lay weeping in the cold and sticky mud pool
The insect was only as small as a jewel
When the winter season had arrived.
A trickle of light shed through the lush leaves
Revealing a bright and luminescent blue sea
in the sky, of brilliance and excellency
That melted away the bugs' cold heart
Although the dangers of the cold still remained
And through the blizzards, the ladybird was badly pained
Its hope for a warmer future still retained
As the winter came and went
With a flame of patience fuelled by love
And the warmth and tenderness like that of a dove
The ladybird lay happily, relishing in the sun above
Knowing that it overcame the hardest of its troubles.
