Gallipoli
In my heart I believe it, but in my mind I don’t
Whispers trail behind me, but still I just don’t go
My feet are frozen stiff, my gun up in the air
My finger on the trigger and the smoke is everywhere
I see the world for a minute, glancing in my eyes
I see the smiles and tears, I see the screams and cries
I feel the dark surround me, like a morning mist with shade
I feel the darkness grab me as it lurks back too it’s cave
I know the cold has touched me since the skin’s ripped off my face
And now I’m lying here alone because I’ve faced my fate
