A dragon slain

With the cold bare earth beneath my feet
I stride towards my foe.
The fear inside my pounding heart
He is sure to know.
And soon I get my very first chance
To end his marauding days,
But the knight inside this suit of armour
Quickly cowers away.
He strikes with fire and winds so strong,
With hatred yet sheer bliss,
And as I dodge his attacks of death
I hear his snarling hiss.
I slice his neck with my life and my sword,
And he wriggles and writhes in pain,
As he drops to the ground, dead as a doorknob.
That's the tale of a dragon slain.
