3rd in the 'Calling All Poets 2007' competition
It starts at dusk and turns to night,
Nature’s beauty brought to sight.
The moonlight shine’s through misty skies,
Twinkling stars dance side by side.
Bathed in warmth midst the suns rise,
Birds’ symphony sound from on high.
Welcoming the sun on its path through the sky,
Tickles my ears and opens my eyes.
Wide stretch of land to be made green,
Storm clouds gather, lightning is seen.
The kiss of rain shows the colours within,
New growth of flowers heals the earth’s skin.
Winds blow in from crystal blue seas,
The smell of salt is tasted on the breeze.
White capped waves play at the shoreline,
Nature’s game is echoed time after time.
