3rd in the 'Simply Poetry 2006' competition
The ghost of her sleeps near the fire
Waiting for her husband, the liar
She haunts the man's dreams and sleep
He can't escape, he's hers to keep
She's forever angry with the gent
As he kissed another and made a dent
He left her alone and ran away
Leaving the damsel alone in the bay
The lies and loneliness yet again
Drowned her in a river of pain
Every night she cries and shrieks
Knowing that she'll never find what she seeks
All the time the deserter feels mistaken
His heart and soul have been taken
By the cold and dark ghost ex wife
Who now has full control of his life
