A Lifelong Journey

The heavy dew, the thickest mist,
Onward I go to our private tryst.
The sun in the sky, but so far away,
So all that is visible, is a gloomy grey.
The rustle of mice, the twitter of birds,
Magically done,as if by wizards.
The freshness of frost, and warmth of my heart,
My journey continues, for my sweetheart.
As the dawn light lifts, life keeps on growing,
I meet a tranquil creek,crystal and flowing.
A hope is dwindling, not far now,
For my journey to end, complete my vow.
I think back to my journey, full of zest,
Whilst I'm up in the heavens, where I shall rest.
As my loved one awaits, high up in the skies,
I gradually join her, by pure demise.
