The Kelpie is an Australian dog,
That’s meant for rounding sheep.
They do it with ease and a flailing tongue,
From back to back they leap.
Some Kelpies are pets, they’re not meant to work,
They’re hugged and loved all day.
They get a free feed, what more could you need?
And some kids who are willing to play.
There’s something about all Kelpies
And their cheeky little smile,
They sit there with those pleading eyes
And fool everyone for a while.
In Scotland they’re a demon, a mythical horse.
But here in Australia they’re much more than that.
They’re an Aussie bred icon
That deserves a good pat.
