3rd in the 'Calling All Poets 2007' competition
Apollo's chariot dives, into the cool luxury beneath.
Darkness falls upon,
The silver gaze of Diana blankets the thirsty treetops
With a silky, solicitous embrace.
The chilling night wind, the intoxicating moisture.
Ecstasy!
Cracks on the parched ground
Wailing beasts yearning for water...
Just one drop would be fine...
The owl sighs,
For Dawn is no longer a hope,
But a suffocation of blazing heat.
Evening, ah, what a luxurious respite!
Thirst, Desperation, a World Reversed
Apollo is no longer cherished.
