A Dream To Fly...

As new storms brew and black crows wheel,
The dark’s treachery is revealed...
As I walk by, a crow catches my eye,
I watch it loop and spiral and fly...
Suddenly, like a midsummer rain,
I see in my mind, again and again,
My real desire – I never knew why,
But I had decided – I wanted to fly...
I reach the ‘summit’ of a skyscraper near,
No-one could taunt me, could stop me flying
here...
I watch the black crows, so sad and moaning,
I wanted to fly, so badly and lonely...
But then something hit me, like the note of a fife,
Humans can fly, but only once in their life...
So I left the building, I would not cry...
I came back years later... When I was going to die...
In my last moments, I felt free with the crows,
I hit the pavement, I won’t make it a lie...
I died... At peace...
