Death - A Sonnet

No one should welcome death; I never did,
To move on, growing dread with growing age.
But from happiness and health, my life hid;
Illness moves through, with ever growing rage.

Is death worse if you know what is to come?
Given time to ponder through memory.
I would rather sudden; no time to run
Than sit here missing life, my family

I know that they are also suffering
Just to help me, they choose to end my life
They are doing the right thing, so they think.
Pain wracks my body, thought i stay quiet.

Because, though it sounds unreal, i see light
The pain subsides, now i go with no fright.
