You aren't the reason I awake in the morning,
Nor the reason the bird's sing,
You are certainly the reason my heart beats faster,
But also frequently guilty of making it sting,

I enjoy every millisecond in your company,
As cliche as it may sound,
When I'm not with you, I can see the world clearly,
I know what is right, but I like it better when you are around.

I do think about you re-occuringly,
Also wonder if i cross your mind,
I see the other couples, simple, unlike us,
But I wouldn't trade this, a guy like you is hard to find.

You aren't the reason I breathe,
With you I can live without,
There is just one problem with that equation,
I don't want to, I love you, there is no doubt.
