The hot summer days turn to night
And still not a drop of rain in sight
A blue sky, so very clear
Offers no clouds to cry their tears
The rain gauge, empty for far too long
It’s not just bad luck, something is wrong
Global warming is the reason, look at what it’s done
No longer can we sit around playing games and having fun
Our hands are full and time is running out
To undo what we’ve done and stop this awful drought
The effects are all around us, everywhere we go
No longer is it something of the future or a scary show
Hope for future generations is fading fast
All those water fights a thing of the distant past
We must fix this global problem before it is too late
Or submit ourselves to this terrible fate
