He Held Out His Hand

He held out his hand
A plea in his eye
Reaching for me
I let out a sigh

I turned slowly
My back to him
Hiding my face
Tears to the brim

In the corner of my eye
His hand slowly fell
Face looking at me
He said “Please Kel’

I turned back to him
Head high spirit low
Opened my mouth
And said back ‘no’

He searched my face
For any sign of deceit
But lowered his head
And sighed in defeat

Walking off
He looked back one last time
Before turning away
After thinking of my crime

He walked away
No plea in his eyes
Just black oblivion
Believing the lie
